Any way to prevent stretch marks when lifting? When I was 17 I lifted just one time and got 3 little rips next to my right armpit. This is the only stretch mark I've had, AND I DON'T WANT ANY MORE! Any ways to prevent this before It gets out of control?
Thanks!

Yes CREAM!!!!!(with vit E, A...)good essentiel fat in your diet and lots of water daily....
Do it NOW 'cause when you first have the marks it's quite difficult to get rid of them.

Yes, cream helps a lot, but still be prepared to get some stretch marks as the cream might not prevent them all. Cocoa butter is a good cream and straight vitamin E oil is really good. You need to constantly apply it though. At least twice daily.

I have also heard that stretch marks are caused by a rapid growth or shrinkage of the body.

There was a post on this earlier ... I think Adrian (sorry, my memory has failed me!) said a zinc deficiency is the cause. Try a search on Zinc & stretch marks for more info

there are some creams for pregnant women that prevent stretch marks, if you don't mind, you could use those also. :)

I'm 20 and I am always working out, although my eating habits aren't that great, I am still not fit around my buttocks and hips. I have in the past year developed stretch marks, and have been trying to get rid of them. I apply lotion in the morning and night time and exercise daily, but nothing seems to help. I am a size 6, used to be a size 4 in high school, but I am trying to get back down to that size. If anyone has any helpful suggestions that would be great. thanx!!!

I bought a product called DMARK-Athletic Stretch Mark Stick. It's made for bodybuilders I think. I found it at www.pharmathletica.com. Anyway, stretch marks are forming on my chest and biceps. I'll let you guys know how well DMARK works.
