ok, Ive been lifting weights for a while now...maybe couple months. everytime I go to the gym, I just do random machines, no certain order er anything of the sort =/. I feel lost sometimes...anyways...btw im 17.ya well, I was wondering first, do I do cardio such as bikes or treadmill first then lift weights or lift weights then do cardio. And im 5'6 and i weigh about 200 pds unfortunatley. And when do I stretch also....before I do treadmill..stretch for lifting weights? do I warm up with light weights? help me be a little organized and know what im doing thankyou

well, i wouldn't recommend you run and lift at the same time... do one one day and one on the other... if you absolutely HAVE to do cardio and weights on the same day, make sure you have at least a 3-4 hour gap in between... but again, it's best if you do them on different days, so you can work your hardest on both, and not just the first one while you still have energy...
about stretching... just do some stretching before and after you do both weights and cardio... what i do is usually some toes touching kind of thing, then i stretch my pecs, shoulders and back, do some push ups and stuff, and run some flights of stairs just to get the blood pumping... and yes, as you get going on the lifting process, do start with lighter weights as a way of 'warming up'...
good luck

well, it's not a sin... but if you work your tail off with the weights (which you should be doing), then how much cardio will you be able to do after that? not only that, but after you work your tail off at the gym, the best thing you can do is rest... but like i said, it's your decision... you do what you gotta do...

Pimple has some good advice but remember this. streatching should be included as part of your workout routine before and after. your muscles will actually develop more evenly and fully with a proper stretch, also stretching willhelp reduce the risk of pain and injury by making the muscles more supple and pliable. do not stretch so hard that you hurt your self and do not bounce as these will cause tears wich will hinder growth and flexibility.:dumbbell::angry::big_smile:
