For a begginer like myself, how do I start to streach before lifting weights?

I usually start with a few reps with very light weight before I stretch.

Best to do a dynamic warm-up prior to your workout, and leave the stretching until after you're done lifting.

yep - stretching reduces the muscle's power to contract, do light sets to warm up the muscle groups, stertch after you are done with your workout.

as a beginner i made this mistake alot...streching prior to lifting is just stupid..learned that the hard way, just think of how you feel after a good stretch your muscles are a little tired and feel the burn a little, kinda like you worked out but didnt just thought i would offer it from a person who was there...save the stretches for your cool down
