Today Was my day to exercise my legs and calves. On the workout designed for me by freetrainers.com it wanted me to do 4 sets of seated calf raises but my gym doesn't have a seated calf raise machine so I substituted and did standing calf raises. Is it appropriate to substitute one excersise for another if you can't do the original one? .. and yep .. plenty of spelling errors I know .. sorry.

I don't see why not. FT tells you what muscles are worked out. so just make sure what you replace it with works that group too. If you don't substitite it and you don't have the machine what else can you do.... so I can't see a problem with that one bit.

Johnguy is absolutely right, if you know what your targeting, and don't have that equipment, just make sure you target the same muscle.

One question though - If you substitute one exercise for another, should you enter the alternative WTs into the program? Won't that skew the log somewhat? Which works better with this FT system?
