I have read articles about keeping you blood sugar level balanced. Bill Phillips from EAS talks about it a lot. I understand it is important when trying to loose weight. How do you tell what it is, where it should be, and what kind of diet will help keep it balanced. EAS has a weight loss program and he talks about your protien and carb. intake should be the same. Is this true? Kind of confused about the whole protien and carb. thing. Can somebody help?

For general fitnes, you should keep your carbs and protein the same. But if you want to put on muscle, eat more protein then carbs. Just don't eat any simple sugars and tbat will keep your sugar in check.

An excellent book that deals with blood sugar, and the ratios of protein to carbs to fat is Enter the Zone by Barry Sears. You can find it in almost any book store, and I found it to be really helpful. He recommends 30:30:40 protein:fat:carb ratio, which isn't exactly protein=carbs, but you can read up on why he thinks it's the best.. He mostly deals with the glycemic index of foods, which is the rate at which the sugar gets absored into your blood stream; eat low G.I. foods to avoid blood sugar level spikes...

protiens are what you need... get the most of them through out the day but a little less than carbs though... I split my meals into 45% carbs, 35% protien and 20% fat.
