i started working out and eating right 8 weeks ago. i started at 126 lbs 34% bf. 32waist, 39hips. 5' 6". NOW, 121 lbs, 26%bf and 2 1/2inches off waist and hips.
1. is this a good pace for 8 weeks?
2. my real question is, how can i loose the big fat pooch i have (i have a small upper ab area with some definition but round pouch in lower abs) without loosing anymore weight?

My suggestion for your #2 question is to increase the calorie intake so that you will maintain the weight and keep working out (both cardio & strength). You will lose fat and gain muscle.
For #1 question, I don't know. I am new at this too. I am about the same place as you are I think. I went from 31%bf to 24%bf and lost 8 lbs in 7 weeks so far. My trainer seems to think I am making a good progress.:)

1. I think its a good pace for 8 weeks, but thats just me cos to me any progress is a good progress. In the fitness world anyways :)

2. dunno, gotta wait for the fitness veterans.

konary is right. Diet and cardio to lose fat. Stength training to preserve and build muscle. I think it is an excellent pace. Way to go.

Hi,

My cousin who has the flattest stomach. Well she runs to help with that..but also does Denise Austin's 10 minute ab workout video. I bought it and you can really feel it. Also there is a yoga move, called The Plank. I will try to explain in case you haven't heard about it. You lie on the floor, place arms in front of you, leaning yours arms on the floor, elbow to hands, then you raise up off the floor, on your tip toes. You are basically trying to be parallel to the floor holding yourself up only with your arms. You count 25-50 seconds depending what you can do. Rest, and do two more. So only 3 times, every other day, and they say in two months you will obtain a flat stomach. I read it in cosmo. I am sure you can find picts of what it look likes online. Good luck!

So, it was called "the plank". :) A couple of weeks ago, my trainer made me do this move and told me to hold that position as long as I can. I tried my hardest to hold it and lasted 2 min 20 sec! My trainer was doing the same move beside me and said to me after it was over "You made me sweat." I think that was the best compliment for me so far.
