I know you are losing water for sure. I'm not sure about fat. Something else that I heard is when you drink cold water, you lose calories as your body needs to warm it up to body temperature or to somewhere fairly close to ti before it puts it to use.

Timbaland is right in the cold water theory. I don't think that you will lose too much fat walking a block, unless your metabolism is throught the roof. I saw something on Lance Armstrong. They had him in a room sitting. They hooked him up to machines to watch his body burn fat. Apparently, when he got up to get on the treadmill, his metabolism was soaring. That is just what I read in Sports Illustrated or something like that

Yeah, I read about that, they said just putting his foot onto the treadmill his metabolism revved way up. But Armstrong is a highly trained endurance machine (and maybe a deity), when you sweat it is water coming out from your muscles, where carbs pull in four times their weight in water (hence the dramatic weight loss seen in the first week of Atkin's type diets, no carbs, no water in your muscles).
But - the fitter you are the more efficient your body becomes at cooling itself - therefore you sweat more.
Anyhow, fatburning or not, it is a cleansing process...
