When are the best times to take these?? How much?? With what?? Yes - I am truly a novice, but definitely motivated to learn. Also, are there any "legal" supplements that would greatly speed up the growth of muscle mass?? I've heard of many, but what truly works?? Sorry for the broad topic.

Work ethic and diet discipline are what truly work.
Creatine immediatly post workout usually. Some divide the dose pre and post.
Whey protein immediatly post workout. Chug half and sip the other half for an hour.
If you are a novice you need to workout to your max before adding creatine. If you are under 21, your body already produces plenty and you don't really need it.
