I was reading some of the comments here. Ive been told by some lifters that I could use some supplements to help accomplish my 12% goal. But has it been anyones experience that someone could achieve that goal without the supplements? I know the cardio is very important....well I should say the eating, resting, exercise. I know they go hand and hand....but just wondering. I really want to do this without anything if possible.

Well all I take is a multi-vitamin and I have lost 6 inches and 5% BF in about 5 months ( but i also do not do as much cardio as i should). So I think it can be done.

of course. the supplements can just help you along. the basis for any type of regimen must be diet, training, and rest. just look at the body builders from greater than 30 years ago: they had none of these supplements from today available to them, yet their physiques (and even their levels of strength) were fantastic.

Save your money; reduce your calorie intake and you will get their the quickest. Exersizing: you can burn way more calories by lifting weights than by cardio. Do alot of high reps 15-20 per exersize, start out with 2 sets each exersize, use your time/focus on the big muscles, dont rest between sets. Lift for entire body every othere day.Do cardio on the days in between. Commit to this and you will become as lean as you will ever want to be. Once you reach your BF% goal then you can change your work out to build muscle mass, or just maintain. go for it. ============ Quoting from cc:

You could also try cycling your carbs.

The easy way is not necessarily the best way, you gotta work for what you want. thinking that suppliments and such will make it easier is not always true. Take it natural, eat healthy.

Your getting good advice here. Diet - Sleep - Multi Vitamin have been good to me. I've losed over 52lbs during past 4 months with no sagging, etc... I am as hard as a rock. If you gain lean muscle slow, to supplement you could try Glucerna with whey protein for a meal replacement shake. Glucerna has about 20g protein and 20g slow absorbing carbs (used by me a diabetic) and adding additional protein at least for me has been a good thing, as its difficult to prepare and eat six meals daily. Yes, by all means you can. The so called "fat burners" have not been around forever! Bodybuilders have been burning fat for years without them. A protein supplement on the other hand would be very helpful, just to make sure you are getting adequate amounts to keep your muscle. Remember, the best thing you can do is change your muscle to fat ratio. Dieting alone will make you lose too much muscle mass, and nothing burns more fat than muscle. You want to be lean, not skinny. You can do it!!
