I just became a gold member at GNC and will be stocking up the 1st of next month. Can someone provide a list of what I should buy? My goals are general nutrition and health, moderate increase in mass, and added energy during workout. Probably the same as most others here.
When I began working out in November, I bought EAS whey protein, EAS Creatine monohydrate, Onesource multi, and an omega 3 complex. All products were purchased from Walmart because I wanted to make sure of my commitment to this change in lifestyle before making any large purchase, and I was not sure where to begin. I am pleased with my progress since I began. I have gained and lost in all the right areas so I am ready to take this thing to the next level and dont want to throw money away.
Thanks for any input.

I would say what you are doing is fine as far as supplements. Do not spend money unwisely on false hype.

Get your diet in order, and use the supplements you are using wisely. This is all you really need. You probably did not need creatine even, as a newbie you would make quality gains without it. How did you know if it even worked? Use creatine when you plateau at the earliest.

Im not doubting EAS's quality but they're are alot of more cost effective protein choices. Visit the board sponsor www.netrition.com

Yep, you can get better deals. My point was that at this stage of the game, you don't need to spend money unwisely on things that make big promises. Max out your own potential first before you start looking into "hyped" stuff.

Thanks for the info guys. I still have some questions though.
Are the Walmart products good? Should I buy better quality vitamins? Should I be using casein along with whey? Should I take L-glutamin?
I am also looking for something that will give me an extra gear while working out. I stand on my feet and am moving constantly at work all day. by the time I get to the gym, I am a little pooped. I have the motivation now, I just lack the energy for those final few reps.

Well hopefully you have your diet in order. To me, GNC is not the best place to buy sups. I usually go there to see what's new and then I would buy them off the internet(non-GNC brands) with a 20 - 40% discount(even w/ shipping).

I've used the NO2 and some other over the counter version. Neither worked for me. Some of the other versions of sups had me take more than the original.

I had better results w/o any sups as far as losing weight. I just started mixing a whey product w/ my MRP to build more muscle. I wasn't getting enough protein from my diet. I've noticed more gains in strength, size, and definition in my upper body.

Anyway............ I'd research the products and shop around. GNC can make you go broke. Even w/ the "discount". :)

Good Luck

I'm with essexs on this one. GNC is notorious for overpricing their products. To be honest, I've never been impressed by any of their "own products" either. I never buy anything they make other than weight gainer shakes, since those are pretty hard to screw up.

You can find anything they sell in their stores on the internet for a lower price, even with that Gold Card.
