Hmmm...you should really stay away from sweets if you want to get rid of those love handles. I could suggest a protein bar (Meso-Tech from MuscleTech)...very delicious!! It doesn't taste like your average PowerBar-type food. |

im not a real sweetooth person, but i like the taste and quality of the low carb bar from universal... and for just the sweetooth maniacs, they offer a pure chocolate bar (no sugar or aspartame!)michael |

I like dried fruit (apricots, apples, etc). That usually satisfies my sweet tooth. Also, as said above, those Meso-Tech bars really are awesome. The chocolate peanut butter bar is simply incredible. |

You are confusing me! You say you should stay away from sweets then you recommend the Meso Tech Bar with 29 GRAMS OF SUGAR. The ingredient list includes sugar, corn syrup and fructose! WOW. why not just eat a snickers bar and have a whey protein drink with it? You would be better off with sugar free pudding made with lowfat milk (or protein scoop)with a dollop of cool whip on it! Anyway the NitroTech bar from MuscleTech would be the better choice in the protein bar arena. just my opinion!!!! |

Hi Musclerage, instead of saying to yourself that you no longer can eat any sweets at all, then try to follow a good healthy diet and let yourself have a cheat day (or meal) once a week where you can eat a little bit of sweets. This is maybe the best solution to start with. I love sweets as well. I don't eat it often thou. |

You're right about the sugar, Leslie. But have you tasted the difference between a Nitro-Tech bar vs. Meso-Tech? |

Yes the Nitrotech has a different texture due to the alcohol sugars and glycine. Not as sweet. They taste good but protein bars give me unlady like gas so I don't eat them. |

Muscle, you're still pretty young...it's okay to have a sweet tooth. It's normal and as long as you don't overdo it, what's the harm? |

I agree with rpacheco. That also depends on your goals. I'm on a strict diet now and it has been ages since I taste some sweets.....:(so STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!!!! (o: |

I agree that having sweets once in a while isn't bad. I have a big sweet tooth that drives my husband crazy. I try to stick with sugar free candy or something that takes a long time to dissolve. I hate the taste of protein bars and when I am in the mood for chocolate, I have something with a big chocalate taste and lower in fat than most. A 3muskateers once in a while due it for me. Also try counting your calories, it makes you more aware of what your eating and that has helped me tremedously. Good luck. |

i go on diets all the time and i cant seem to do it alone my wife has gained a little weight but not enough to make her want to lose any. for me in the past when i have lost weight it was always with a partner. I find it impossible to do it alone, because when its just me i cheat all the time.I have a huge sweet tooth and i know thats why i have gained weight.

The you need to go out and have at it and eat the crap out of all the things you like and come back when you sick and tired and have the will to get healthy.
You have to want it and be willing to do it for you and only you or you can't do it! You don't sound ready because if you were you would find it very possible. -------------- Knock-Um Down & Keep-Um Down! |

i see what ur saying if i want it then i have to do it for my self and not depend on some one to keep me going. thats might be the reason i can lose but then gain weight back. thanks for the tough love

It's exactly what happened to me!
I would do it for everyone else and not myself and it wouldn't become a lifestyle change but a temporary diet! For the last 4 years it's been all for me and my health and it was easy to make it a lifestyle change. After awhile you learn how to get your sweats in time from time without paying a heavy price for it. -------------- Knock-Um Down & Keep-Um Down! |
