Does anyone just target one muscle group for a month or anything like that. Like doing a month of just shoulders maybe 2 - 3 workouts a week. Can anyone let me know what results they got and possible thoughts about this type of training. Thanks mike

What possible use could it have? 2-3 times a week of just one group is asking for imbalances and over training.

Muscles atrophy at surprising speed when they aren't used. In your example, say you work shoulders this month, then legs next month. You've basically accomplished little if anything. I suppose it might be better than doing nothing but not far from it.

If you mean specialization routines, like smolov or GVT, or using microcycles with specialization, then yes. I use them all the time to work around injuries and with clients that have muscle imbalances and/or specialized needs. But this is only using reduced volume with other body parts, not with cutting everything else, it has to be very well balanced, and it should never be done for more than 2 weeks at a time. Like mutt said, its asking for an imbalance.
Again, specialization only means doing more of one, not cutting out everything else.
