im 16 and at the week end i work with men from the age of mid 20 to late 40s, one thing they all have in common is at least on crap tattoo. these range from an eagle on the forearm, taz from that tazmanian devil cartoon on the shoulder, and my favourite of the worst ever tattoos ever - RETARDED - in big black letters over the abs. i've posted this here cos i figured as you grow older you begin to regret things like this, and examples of great feits of stupidity such as the great RETARDED would be much appreciated.-------------- todays post was bought to you by the letter A, and the fact that paintball hurts. talkSPORT - 10.89 and 10.53 AM/MW quality radio from 10pm to 5am the next day. talksport.net |

My husband just got my name tattoo'd on his bicep in old english lettering. It looks very nice. He was contemplating having a jaguar in a forest put on his arm, all in color, so I am VERY happy he went with the solid black letters of my name.

I am covered inink. The only ones I regret are some of the more 'death' oriented ones (I was in a phase and had a cheap tatto artist), however, most of them can and will be transformed with soem decent tribal work and colorful exotic flowers. I have my husband's name in a heart on my forearm and he has mine on his. We had no qualms about it.
One thing about getting them when you are so young - they do fade and blur as time goes on, I started getting tattoed when i was 16 9rebel girl) and those tats are prettyblurred. The nice thing is, you can get them re-colored! My tattoes remind me of people and places and tell my history. I remember where I was and who was there when I got each one and what each one meant/means to me. The worst tattoo i have seen is the one they did on jackass the movie with Rollins driving the humvee (I love Rollins...a whole nother post there..). -------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

LOL, that was classic on jackass, Henry Rollins is the man. I have a few tats, I am part Native American, so, they are all tribal themed, I will never regret my heritage.

I regret two of my tattoos. One is the claws on my chest. I actually like the design, but I did not take care of it when I got it and it is severely faded. The other one I have is "your name" on my ass. Not at all proud of that one. I got it when I was 19 in Okinawa. The rest of my tattoos I love and I do not regret them at all.-------------- My gym dues are not paid with money. |

That was the reason why I got it. Unfortunately for me I never could quite figure out how to use it to my advantage.
Hec meets a pretty girl in a bar: Hec: "Hi I am Hector, what is your name?" Girl: "My name is Theresa" Hec: "Oh what a coincidence I have "your name" tattooed on my ass" Girl: "Get out of here, really?" Hec: "Yup" Girl: "You are lying" Hec: "Sleep with me and find out" Girl "Get the hell away from me creep" So as you can see I never got the tattoo to work to my advantage. That is why I regret it. -------------- My gym dues are not paid with money. |

I have a huge tattoo and I can't say that I regret it at all even though when most women see it, they go "oh my god, that's big"...
I designed and sketched it tell the story of me...it still needs a little color work to have it completely finished (after five hours I gave into the pain) but for the most part I love it. I do however wonder what it will look like when I am 90...:surprised: |

I have a 12'' by 8 '' one on my arm , when in office no one sees it , but when working out or when Im holidaying Im always on sleevelss or shirt less , No regrets at all . It takes some gutts to carry some ones art on your body . People have an instant liking towards it , only conventional and weakhearted people cant digest the idea of a TATOO

I just got my third one. A 4 leaf shamrock of interlocking hearts on my back, at the top of my shoulder blade. It is bigger than I wanted but I like it. I hadnt told hubby so he was rather shocked when he 'found' it. I got my first one at 39 and dont regret any of them. Question..my hubby's is fairly new, he's past the constant lotion phase, but now he has huge red bumps all around the tattoo. Anyone know what might be causing this, and how to get rid of them? I think it might be because he was using hand CREAM on his arm, but any suggestions would help.

Mine had some little red bumps similar to acne outside the actual tat. I just assumed it was because of all the A&D, and lotion that the area wasnt used to. It is a lot better now. Try using an astringent or cleanser on them for a couple days to keep it clean and free of lotion and see if it gets better.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I don't regret it, but it's his nickname and everyone always asks me "who is that?" thinking it may be someone other than my hubby! Hey, I'm 14 years old n went through brain surgery last year, (all better by the way:)). My uncle also had a similar tumor and he faught so hard, but didn't make it in the end. When I was going through all the same crap that he did he was the person that I looked to, he was such an inpiration to me. I really wanna get a tat of his initals (not too big, not too small) near my hip, sort of on my pelvis bone -around there ya know. I just wanna know if anybody that reads this is my age and got a tattoo at my age, if there were any regrets..
post please Thanks! -Maddie |

Interesting post....never could really understand the point of tattoos personally...
want to show someone you love them? get them a gift, flowers, candy, do something nice for them.... wanna be badass? go sky diving...go bungee jumping..etc Wanna be clever? tell a funny well thought out joke .... small tattoo where no one sees it? what's the point of it then... wanna honor the name of your uncle? donate some money to charity in his name...to a worthy organization....if you want to remember him...than ask a family for a good picture of him...blow it up and hang it in your room.....I seriously cannot understand the point of tattoos.... #1 they are painful #2 they are expensive #3 permanent #4 another categorization element .......hopefully I didn't offend any people with tattoos....lol

wow!
this is a super long and informative-of-many-members here post... Tatoos are personal things, and I dont regret mine. All drama aside, a tatoo of Lucifer might offend alot of ladies MOS, which could be a turn-off. Just a female opinion, no insult intended. |

MOS...there are seriously better ways of looking cool...than getting a big tattoo on your back... you'll get a lot more looks on the beach for a well sculpted body rather than some tattoo...also consider that even with a growing interest in tattoos...last i heard it was around 10% of population has a tattoo...nevetheless...people who choose tattoos are still a big minority in the overall population...for every person with one there will be 9 without one....9-1 underdog....conclusion: FOLD...
