Guys,

I posted this in another forum, but thought it would get more hits in here so i re-posted it.

To cut a long story short Im looking at a sales opening with a company called Techno Gym. (www.technogym.com) Im curious to know if anyone here has heard of them or their products, and how you guys would rate them, good or bad. To me they look great and its something I could get passionate about, although Im curious to know the thoughts of the experts here. Thanks in advance for your input.

Never heard of them, but I looked around their website and requested a catalog. Looks like stuff marketed towards the "wellness" market... not a fan of that market as a whole (generally way too much propaganda and not enough results), but in the end there will always be a market for that and someone has to serve it.

As for their products, I looked into their home trainer... I don't like it... not one bit. I suppose it may be good for those that can throw the money into it, but at our gym, our single cable machines need repair on an almost weekly basis. Granted, our machines get more use at heavier weights, but that thing has way to many parts for me to comfortable with it.

I looked further into their line up, and seem to notice a common theme that the machines tend to look very elegant, but I can't see them performing well. For example... their 45 degree hyper (lower back bench on the website)... looks gorgeous... but I can't see it being comfortable at all. The close foot position and thing pads, as well as the high ankle pads, I wouldn't get on it. Also, the hooks on all the pressing equipment look like they wouldn't be easy to clear at all.

The saying about a lot of companies, is that "weightlifting equipment isn't built by weightlifters". I hear this all the time, and probably say it even more.

However, that is just my review as far as their equipment line. I'm not a businessman, just an ex-personal trainer that still works in a gym and likes to lift heavy things. Any job will have particular markets, and I am sure that the feelings of a powerlifter won't be the make or break on any business deal.
