Anything less than 7 hours is not enough, in my opinion...especially if you're a weightlifter.

Most of the things I've read say 7 - 8 unless you talk to my son and he'll pull out a study that says 11 is the minimum. :)

lol
i am the worse, i can sleep sometimes for a day, or other times 4 hours is fine.
i would say lately i average about 10 hours of sleep. but am working to get that down to 8 hours. 8 is a good number, pending on what your day involves.

Anything under 9 hours and i can't make toast the next day. I usually sleep kind of late (like around 1'ish) because i play sports, work, skateboard and workout all day so my body needs it.

Teens are still growing and devloping. What's really weird is that we only grow in our sleep. That doesn't mean that if you sleep 15 hours, you'll be bigger than everyone else. Growth hormone (GH) is only secreted when the body is totally at rest (read: sleep).
If I sleep more than 8 hours, I think my body tends to remain at rest for the entire following day. I just can't sleep that long. I usually sleep anywhere between 4-6 hours. Now, with the new baby, its not always good, continuous sleep. I know that's not good, but there's not much I can do about it.
