Sooo...I am switching from Depo to the Patch. I had thought that all of my troubles were cause by me, and then found a website that made me look at some of the things I have dealing with and how they are directly related to depo. For example, a 55lb weight gain in 2 1/2 years even with healthy eating and exersize, constant fatigue(even when sleeping a full 8-10 hours) moodiness, depression, loss of libido as well as a lack of womanly fluids. I hadn't even thought the two were connected, and after reading all this, called the clinic I get the depo shot from, and the nurse told me that with these symptoms I should have stopped taking it a LONG TIME AGO!! Why doesn't anyone tell me these things before the fact. Anyway, just wanted to share in case anyone is going through anything similar, and I hope that the patch will help all of my hard work to actually start paying off!!

awwww
I had my tubes tied after having 2 kids so I don't have to worry about that stuff anymore. What are the side effects of the patch?? It is always good to ask your doctor what the side effects are before taking any meds.

Good luck on your hard work & I hope you start seeing results soon.

depo made me psychotic and fat. Glad you are geting off of it! Hope you see a change quickly! It took more than 6 months for my periods to get back to normal after getting off the depo.

I have been on it for almost 5 years, and havent had a period since I started. It has been so frustrating because I am eating healthy and working out, but still gaining weight. My only concern now is that I may be to heavy to use any other kind of bc. As far as I know, depo is the only one without a weight limit. I went from 180 to 230 in 2 1/2 years. Ugh! Anyway, we will see how it goes. Keep yer fingers crossed for me!!
