I have a slender figure (I weigh 122 lbs at 5'5) but for some reason all my extra weight is in my pooch in my lower stomach. I've heard about a million of different exercises for your stomach but I dont want to gain muscle there until I have lost the pooch. Are there any exercises that will get rid of it first before I start toning up my body???? I dont want to over do it by exercising it wrong so that I have more muscle under there and it still looks huge. Please somebody give me real information that I can understand and do easily. Thank yall so much in advance!!!

When you do your crunches make sure of breathing correctly. Breath out when you crunch and inhale when you relax.
Why not start to tone up your whole body now?!!!

I have the same problem......which is the fat storage area for our body types. I've been told you can never completely loose it (meaning a flat stomach whaaah) but you can tone and that cardio does help a lot! I need to pump up working my abs so I know what you mean. I know you have to work lower and upper abs and there are all kinds of sites as well as a rountine here Im going to try! IF anyone has tried something successful...TELL US!

I have two exercises that may help. It targets the lower parts of the stomach. Hopefully I explain them in good enough detail.
Hello Dollies....lay on the floor with hands either under your butt or at your sides. Lift your legs about 6" from the ground and open your legs side to side as far as you can... repeat
Flutter kicks....same position as above, lift your legs 6" from the ground, but this time, raise one leg up in the air (keeping your leg as straight as possible) then alternate between legs...repeat.
You can start to feel these throughout your stomach but mostly targets that pooch area. Give it a try and let me know how you like it.

Ok Sarah - Im going to give it a go what they recommended here on your post. I'm also going to try the ab program here. I just got some Hydroxycut yesterday (only Im going to take 4 a day...not go as high as they say on the bottle -I'd be poor taking 8 a day at that cost!) Also going to increase my cardio. Ever have one of those talks with you sig other...(I could loose 5 pounds) and

Assess your diet too. Slender women with a "pooch" may find it is 1) genetic 2) water weight 3) lack of tone (ie the exercises you asked for and /or 4) DIET of high carbs, especially of the processes kind..bread, pasta, processed carbs, bagels...simple and processed carbs tend to add gut weight in women fr some odd reason. Cut it out for a month or two (increase the fiberous carbs) and see what happens.
