Has anyone else read this book by Leo Galland? I am reading it, finding it fascinating.
I specifically had a question for bb1fit - Galland is a specialist in internal medicine and nutritional medicine and he states "I don't recommend bedtime snacks, because they inhibit the release of growth hormone, an important fat-burning. muscle-building, anti-aging hormone that is primarily released into the bloodstream in the early hours of sleep, reaching a peak at about 1 AM. It's well known that food eaten too close to bedtime suppresses the release of growth hormone for several hours."
I have never heard that before and was just curious if you have read anything similar?

Yes, I have heard this before....I think the importance of nutrition pre bed far outweighs the minute amount of GH during sleep. As you age this declines anyway.

BYW, I do recpmmend the book to anyone who wants a better idea of how fat functions, physiologically. It is very interesting and easy to read and explains a lot....
