in the uk here a mens muscle and fitness rag has a sensible article in it, although maybe a bit discrimanating, but it does help stop alot of pointless pill popping...
it suggests most products tested are tested as separate ingredients and not as the bundle they sell and frequently overstates the results they achieve. Like 50% of people lost 2 pound a week on ''product A'' . But you find the 100% tested was only 60 people, 30 employed by them in some way, all on a structured diet plan.... The only products men need or really do work it said were;
boron- anti cancer, but you can eat almonds and greens.
selenium- free radicals and all
zinc- testosterone production(support)
co-enzyme q10- energy, wellbeing
and the best of all was
creatine- water retention in muscles for volume, strength, progress and the ability to do that little bit extra...
hmb- see creatine and WOW!!!
I'm sure many would disagree? But as a permanent pill popper, I have to say I have found the only thing I really felt worked was the creatine as none of the other products can actually give a noticable physical change and endurance enhanced feeling. I will still pop the mega multis and the seaweed- but I think the q10 is my next try out.
