I have seen at least a billion demos on how to perform squats the right way. When I do them, though, I'm still unsure if I'm doing them correctly. I stand feet shoulder width apart, the barbell resting on my traps, and start by bending down to a chair-like position. I know this may seem correct, but I feel a little insecure about them and I definitely don't want to injure myself. Any suggestions?

That's a good idea. Also, my friend once told me that when you're doing them, to stick out your butt, while still keeping your back straight. What do you think?
