ok thinking about taking a protien shake since I only can eat lunch at work and something like a protien bar would be easier to slide in rater then an actual meal.. other then that I end up getting way too few calories/protien for the day.. seems like its supplement or lose weight.. any suggestions? I poked around for some ideas on what protien supps might be good but i'm still sort of lost...

I would not stop eating lunch to take a protien drink, instead take your protien with lunch. Also Meal Replacements are a great way to gain, they are relativly cheap per meal also. These are a few ideas, but don't forget a protien drink is simply that a protien drink, it won't give you all the minerals and nutrients that your body gets from a regular meal. Hope this helps, V/R, Tim

I didn't mean to skip a meal. I meant that only lunch alone wasn't enough and usually in the 9 hour time frame I work I would usually eat twice.. So to makeup for calories i'm lacking I would eat/drink some protien shake/bar an hour or two before lunch and an hour or two after lunch...

Like aerlingus said aprotien shake is a protien shake. Try looking at a few meal replacements, which have more nutrition and vitamins, not just protien. If its possible during your shift, try eating 2 more meals or the mrp's.
There are some good mrp shakes and bars specifacly designed for that purpose.
Good Luck!

If you're looking for ideas: I love Meso-Tech bars! They're around 200-300 cals w/ 25 g of Protein. They're also high Carb (thus they actually taste good) and have a decent amount of fat in them. The MRP I'm currently using is LaBrada Lean Body in Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream, it mixes just fine in a shaker bottle and it tastes pretty okay (bearable), it has about 45 g of Protein and 22 Carbs.
