Ok when I first came here i signed up for a ft program, but it always seemed that I was dreading my workouts when it came time to do them... Then I started not doing them. I think partly cause I just didnt want to do it, for whatever reason.. So I sat down and did some internet searching and some advice someone gave on one of the sites was. The best thing you could do for a routine is to gather as much information as you could and make a routine for yourself that works for you.... Ok so heres my routine.. 5 days a wk monday thru friday. In the morning about 11 am I take my children for about a 2 mile walk pushing a stroller with most of the time 2 toddlers in it... and then in the evening between 730 and 9pm I do 50 situps, 30 push ups and 50 legg raises... and I plan on about every wk or every 2 all depending on if I think I am ready. Uping each exercise about 5 or 10. So do you think that will work for getting my abs flat again?? I have also changed my eating habbit and am watching my calorie intake and eating about 4 small meals....

Sorry for not answering your post, but my internet access this last week has been severly limited with many factors, contest prep not withstanding. So, apologies.

It sounds to me like you have a sound plan. Remember this well though, no matter how much exercise you do, it does come down to diet for a flat stomach. Keep your diet sound, clean, and you will see the results you require. And the sad fact is, once you achieve your results, you can never go back to your old eating habits again, or you will be right back where you started. This is especially so as we age, normal metabolic changes take place that we must offsett. One note as to your diet, 4 meals may not really be enough. I know it sounds odd being told to eat more, but it actually revs the metabolism and is good for you. (quality food). Too long between meals slows the metabolism, and can actually make your body store fat in anticipation of starvation, and makes the fat burning response all the harder.

Often people don't reply when they feel your question has been answered before, or they don't know the answer. No need to get snippy about it.

I simply felt that you had already made up your mind about this program - so why argue the effectiveness of it.
You won't be any worse off from it, it just may not be optimal. But try it and see how it goes.
Good luck!

ooooo and I do try to eat more meals... I make sure to eat when I am hungry, but that only seems to be like 4 times aday, might be cause of the coffee I drink of the mornings filling me up, but I have limited that to 1 cup so that i would be hungry to eat breakfast when my boys got up.... and than i eat lunch either right before or right after my walk of the mornings.... so i guess the 5 meal should come in after my exercise routine right????

Actually, this may sound silly, but you shouldn't be getting hungry. If you spread your calories out over 5-7 meals/day, eating quality foods(see grocery list for healthy eating) with the right prot/carb/fat mix, you'll find you'll be eating because it's time to eat, not because you're hungry. As far as eating before or after your walk, I'd have a mid morning "snack" and then wait till after you walk for lunch. Here is what my day basically breaks down as:

8am Breakfast (for me at 150lbs its aprox 300-400cal-I ether have cottage cheese/berries with oatmeal or eggs/LFcheese with small whole wheat tortillas and salsa)

10:30 Snack (I like cottage cheese/berries with a little oatmeal mixed in)

12:00 Exercise

1:00 Lunch (again ~400 cal. things like chicken, tuna, veggies etc. on weight training days I also have a protien shake)

3:00 Snack (~300cal) I sometimes have a protien bar or yogurt/oatmeal.

6pm Dinner (~400cal chicken/brown rice veggies or whatever)

8:30 Late night snack -I try an avoid carbs and eat protien instead, usually cottage cheese--I eat alot of cottage cheese these day in order to up my protien and keep the fat down!! I found it very usefull to track my food intake using the tools on this site!

That's it for my day. Hope this gives you some ideas, it is working really well for me diet wise, but I also do wt training 3X/week and run 2X/week, pilates 2X/week--but I built up to that level over a couple of years....so you gotta start somewhere. I've learned most of my stuff from this site, it is awesome:big_smile: I'd say the biggest change I see physically is in my tummy area, but I'm still working on it:angry:

As far as staying comitted....that is up to you and you alone....Just Do It!!

Hope this helps and good luck!!
