btw gator, there is a thread on deadlifting PR's in the male forum. I know your putting up some impressive poundages and thought you might want to look at that.

It is nice. Even more so as no one I mean no one understands my desire or need to deadlift and squat. They all get the bench but then that is what most think of when you say that you weight lift.
My mom and dad keep teeling me I am doing it wrong cause I am heavy. They tell me I should cut out most protein I eat as it is too much and lifting weights like this will injure me. My response was just getting in and out of bed can hurt you. If I could not lift I would be so sad. I see guys in the gym lifting weights with literally hundred od reps, I remember being there a few years ago, but now I wonder why? I mean it tones strenghten a little but they never go higher. What is the use. It is not like all I can do id deadlift and such, I can lift and move things most guys can not even think about. Just the ohter day I had to flip over a King matterese. I grabbed the handles and yanked and pulled up at the same time. I had to lunge forward to catch it! I had so much explosive power there that just a year ago or so I did not have. It is all thanks to power lifting.
I did not mean to toot my own horn but damm with out help from all of you here I never would have tried to squat 315 let alone 455. Thanks!

You guys are awesome. I have learned so much from this....all the other sites I've ever visited for the message boards suck so bad cuz I'm used to this one. It's really nice to have MATT around who just happens to be the shiznit at this stuff. I really appreciate all of you.

that's too bad charlie...you def should post more here....=)

I noticed the same thing Mutt....I only realize how useful it is to be strong when I need to do somehting...last time our stove broke and the repairman came, he needed to move the stove out from its place to get to the back...my parents and him tried to move it with no success ....it literally took me couple seconds to yank it out and move it a foot....that's when my parents realized perhaps there's some added benefit to workout out heavy

Shoot menace I've got all kinds of stories like that. I've now surpassed my older brother and my dad in strength and it feels so good because they've poked fun at me a lot as I've been working out and drinking MRPs and taking supplements. My dad builds houses and now when I go help him, I really do stuff that he can't do on his own, etc, and my dad's got a strong as heck grip (farm work, building, etc.) and he's just pretty strong overall for a 50 year old and I never could beat him at arm wrestling till I did this summer. Also beat my older brother who's like 22...LOL it just really feels good to prove the folks wrong sometimes.
