hey i do 72 pushups a night for 7 days, then take 7 days off, so 1 week pushups at night, the next none, next 7 days, etc... i do 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 yea i do 1 pushup at the end. will this give me a nicely defined chest, and shoulders and whatever else a pushup does? i know it can't do anything but good but what do you think?

Pushups are great...most people can't do 1!! Did you ever think about maybe splitting that up?Like maybe evry 3rd day for rest. I think that may be better than every night and then resting a weeek. Do you not have access to weights too?

hey i dont know i think 1 week off and 1 week on might do something. lol, yes i lift also with this, i just like my chest to be ripped...

So, doing push ups will help to get ripped on the chest?? If so, let me try this dude! I'll do 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on & so on... I'll try this for a month... I'm very curious to get ripped on the chest!

do them in sets; 25-50 reps-wide arm, 25-50 close arm, 25-50 normal, 15-25 diamond, 15-25 feet elevated.
Also you can use push-bars, takes the strain off your wrist too. Also do them using your fist. Have a small kid sit on your back for added resistance. Do them slow, make sure you stretch before and and after. The overhead arm pull is the best stretch. Be creative-no limits.

I dont think simply pushups will get you a ripped chest...they will give you string pecs, but not ripped

I agree with you but it will certainly help to gain stenght and it still a good streching! Thanx for advices guys!

I am 18, and have been working out for just about 2 years, and for the first 6 months or so all I did was push ups. That got me in shape and made me much stronger, but not so much ripped. Still, push ups are something noone should go without. I did them every other day, and tried to do at least 1-2 more than the last time, 2 sets.
