....that I am allergic to Almonds. My cheeks got all puffy and my tongue got a little swollen and my throat tightened up a little. Nothing life threatening, but I only ate 1 nut. Man I loved almonds, and almond butter (mmm....man this sucks).

I haven't eaten any nuts since this incident, its a little scary when your throat tightens up. I just hope that......gulp.....peanuts aren't next.

I just went to the alergist about 2 months ago, but that wasn't for food allergies. Man this really sucks, I just hope it doesn't trasnfer over to other nuts like walnuts, pecans, or god help me peanuts/peanut butter.

Sorry, just needed to vent as this is a big part of my diet.

Same thing happens to my wife with peanuts, almonds, walnuts, etc... and most fruit too.

No, I've eaten almonds a bunch. But it actually happened the past 2 times that I ate them. I'm bummed.

My bf is allergic to all nuts--deathly allergic to peanuts and has the reaction you had to walnuts. He just stays away from nuts. He has always been allergic, but our bodies change and you can develop an allergy or sensitivity to foods without any warning. It really does suck! Sorry to hear this is happening to you. Maybe it will be temporary.

Sorry to hear that, but welcome to allergy club.

The severity of the anaphylactic reaction can increase each time you ingest almonds. The next reaction could be your last one, especially since you stated your throat tightened. So, they should be off your list now.

Also, avoid the temptation to just have 1 to see if you are over the allergy yet.

Read the ingredient labels carefully from now on.....

I need to be careful around the obvious things but when it comes to breakfast cereals and chocolate you would be amazed where manufacturers hide hazelnuts.
