last night and it wasnt bad.
1 cup Egg beaters (or 4 egg whites) 1 cup imitation crabmeat 2/3 cup frozen chopped spinach (thawed and drained) garlic salt and pepper I sprayed a non stick skillet with Pam and cooked it like an omelet. (I usually cook with the lid on so that they puff up) I wasnt very hungry so I only ate half of it and saved the other half for today. Quoting from JMLCMT: Do egg beaters taste any different that real eggs?? ============= Yes, they do taste different...but I usually have some kind of condiment (salsa, ketchup, etc.) on my eggs anyway. -------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

Yo Vic!
Sounds like a winner, you Julia Child impersonator, you! Do you think it would throw the universe into a tail spin or disrupt my nutritional karma if I added some of that highly refined, non-fat, non-carb, tastes-like-sawdust, digestible plastic, cheese-type food product into the mix? I'm a cheese-a-holic, unfortunately. Even if it's pretend cheese!:) (I should have been born a mouse... a BIG mouse, but a mouse). TSMD |

 LOL saxman......funny you should say that, I too refer to it as 'plastic cheese', especially if I nuke it too long. That sounds like a great addition. I've found that the fat-free slices have a better texture and melt nicer than the shredded stuff. I was thinking too that I should throw some chopped onion in there next time. Hubby  said one of the things he misses the most over there is CHEESE. Says they dont see much of it.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

Y'know AZ, there are so many things I'm sure the fine men and women in our armed forces miss. All political rhetoric aside, we truly owe them all a great deal of gratitude. And a huge pat on the back to their families who are carrying their own burdens state-side.
Boy, it's really eye-opening and sad at the same time. Something as lame as a stupid piece of cheese -- we take for granted. Why don't we ship your hubby a monster care package loaded with well wishes and 50 pounds of cheese! Maybe one of those Hickory Farms Super-cheese-a-holic baskets you see around the holidays? TSMD |

Great minds saxman.........I did exactly that at Christmas. I had been thinking that I couldnt send cheese cuz it takes so long to get there. Then I saw the Hickory Farms display and figured if it can sit on the store shelves for weeks at a time it would be ok. He loved it. I sent him some more of it recently and told him to share. Sent him BIG jar of peanut butter too. He is so tired of chicken, rice and eggs fixed the same way day after day. Things have gotten more hectic the past few weeks with the new Iraqi Army and Police Depts trying to learn to take over some of the duties and then being targeted by insurgents. Only 40 more days til his vacation........yippee!-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I knew that those Hickory Farms cheese-o-copias were good for something!
I'll bet you can't wait. So, have you planned that first day back together? I'll bet we won't hear from you two for weeks! Hey, maybe when you two kids come up for air, you could go see that new Mel Gibson movie... According to feedback to BB1's movie unofficial/non-scientific poll in "Healthy Relationships", you'll basically either love it, or you'll both be damned to the eternal fires of hell for laying eyes on it! Or maybe something in between... Either way, sounds like some more good "together" time (don't forget the Junior Mints and nachos with CHEESE!). TSMD |

The first day? Hmmmmmmm, let's see. He gets in at 2am so I dont think there will be much else to do but go home and go to bed. Darn. Actually we both have lists 3 ft long with all the things we'd like to do. And seeing that movie is one of the things on my list. I hope it is still in theatres by then. And one of the things on his list, believe it or not, is to get in a few workouts at a real gym where the weights are actually marked and you don't have to battle the sandstorms. Nachos are on there too. If you don't hear from us for a while, it's nothing personal.....we're just 'busy' <wink>.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |
