(BMI says i need to be bout 150 (maximum normal weight). Ive been running now bout 4.25 miles on treadmill in 50-55 minuntes five days a week. Plus doing weight lifting. I feel great but not that my knee hurts im getting nervous that ill hafta take a break from exercising. Any suggestions/comments/own experiences juss for encouragement out there? thanks in advance everyone.

Sometimes the best thing for you is a little rest. Take a week or 2 off, and then see how it feels. Keep in mind to stick to your nutrition program when you take the time off, and then just resume your training when you are feeling better. Everyone needs a week or two off every now and again.

If your knees are getting sore you should try Glucosamine. I heard people say that after taking it for only a couple of weeks it relieved their joint problems (ranging from ankle to wrist).

The stuff taste terrible, but I used it for a bit and it worked for some minor knee pains I was having.

If you do try glucosamine...it does come in capsule form.

I agree about taking a rest...a week, 10 days, whatever helps.

Just a thought...maybe change the angle (elevation) of your treadmill, if it's adjustable.

Even better, try running on a track and see if it helps. Maybe 1 run day, 1 off day. You can still do weights on non-run days.

You might want to check with a doctor to see what's wrong with your knee. That said...I've found that cross-training is a good way to decrease joint pains from running. Try biking & swimming. While your knee is still sore, bike at a really low resistance w/high RPM (~90).

I have many soccer buddies that swear by glucosamine to keep there knees in shape. I've just started to use it since I've messed up my knees, but its early for me to tell the results. I do know this, however, if you take it in capsule form you only absorb about 20-30% whereas if it is in liqquid form you absorb about 90%. So I recommend the liquid, though it does tast horrible.

You could have patellar tendonitis. try warming up gradually and longer.
Add some squats into your routine where you squeeze a soccer ball sized ball in between your thighs while you squat, this activates your inner quadricveps muscle, which may be weaker than the outer, which causes your knee to come a little off track.
Start your leg extensions a little higher than usual, after the first time lifting the bar, don't go all the way down. And don't slam it at the top.
Ice your knees after running to help get excess fluid out of the joint.
And kirby is right, cross train, give those knees a rest everyother session by doing something different. Do you have access to a pool?
