I am applying at two departments for a chance for my dream... to become a firefighter.... after losing 50 + Lbs... and now being in the best shape I have ever been in...

I took the PAT for Fayette Co. Fire last Friday and Failed by 2 Ft. ... Time ran out... but I didn't give up! There is a retake in Nov.

I'm more concerned with the one coming up for Clayton Co. on Sept. 27

I know where I messed up... the 50 Lb weight vest threw me off a little ( I know I should order one... but I don't have the money right now, nor the time to sit and wait for it to come in), only because of the 25 Lbs. sitting directly on my lungs... I could have used a little more speed on the stairs (there are not any places around that have stairs for public use), I need more work on the Kaiser (it's time to chop some more fire wood), and the 180 Lb dummy kicked my butt (I shouldn't of dropped it).... other than that I never completely ran out of breath, nor energy... I wanted to do it again afterwards (well after a 5 minute break!)

I run, either outside on the street, on a treadmill, or the eliptical... either way 30- 45 min x 2 days a week, Swim 4 x a week, Calisthenics and weight train 3 x week.
For weight training:I do lots of Super and Mega Sets!
Leg Press and Calf Raises 180 Lbs x 4 sets of 30
Chest and Back 140-160 x 3 sets of 20
Abs 100- 200 crunches x 3 days a week, 1000 crunch drill weekly
Shoulders 120- 140 Lbs 3 sets of 25
All other muscles are currently being trained in the pool, using weights in water aerobics, or by swimming

I am on track with my diet, and am getting plenty of water!

I just need some advise on how to top off my training... hind-sight is 20/20... and I want to look ahead to the future!

Failure is not an option... but when you do fail... learn from it!

Why such high reps??? 100-200 crunches???? That won't build any strength or muscle.
I would recommend the squat over the leg press. Do you have access to a squat rack??? If not, then deadlift instead.
What specificly are you asking for???

Your two most important minerals: Iron and Chalk.

If you smoke or don’t wear your seatbelt, please don’t tell me the deadlift is dangerous.
