I have a few questions on toning and defining. I am trying to lose a little weight and I would also like to look toned with slight muscle definition, not bulked up..jost a little definition. I started hiit yesterday morning (a combination of walking and jogging)to help with the weight loss ( I already feel better after only 2 days AMAZING!). I heard that lifting weights will help your metabolism and cause you to burn fat while you sleep. I do not have any weights so are there any exercises I can do until I get weights that will help me tone and define and also burn fat while I sleep. I understand that nothing will be the same as lifting weights. Thanks in advance for the advice.

You can use your own body weight for push ups&pull ups. You may also want to think of using Soup cans for weights and pop bottles filled with water in order to adjust the weight.
A very effective method of resistance training is by using exercise bands.
The cardio you are doing is very good and effective for your cardiovascular system but will not give you the look you desire. I am not saying to stop it, but do include resistance training in one form or another.

How about squats, calf raises etc, using my body weight? Will that work?

Absolutely will work, but eventually will have to add some resistance.

Will these exercises have the benefits as using weights such as definition and burning fat while I sleep? My husband and I are getting weights soon.

You'll see improvements with these exercises...but it will take time....as anything else would.Have fun!

If nothing else you will be getting your body in shape for the upcoming weight workout. You will be conditioning your body, building muscular endurance. Movement of any kind is always a good thing.
