Welcome Genie1 lite weights lots of reps. Go untill you can't go any more. Use 60 to 75% of max weight.

Are you female or male?!!!!

To tone something you need something... some muscle!!!

Give me some more info about yourself (and say hello!) and I'll be able to explain better.

I like to do 3 heavy sets and then a burn out set at the end. It will give you muscle as well as define it.

Everyone has lots of advice, and so do I. Not sure what your figures are, but once you fill out your profile, and ask a few more questions, I am sure you will find your answers. I agree with Philia2. If you want the nicely toned (see defintion in your body), you need to create it. Even skinny people will not show defintion, unless you create muscle. And the way to create it is more weight, and less reps. And then your cardio workouts will burn off the excess stuff, to keep the fat trim to show that defined body. Example: and i am assuming possibly that your female, (but that is why you should fill out your profile), i have had two kids, and i have a pooch. I will never get rid of it, even if i am skinny, because I lack muscle in that area. I mean, something has to be there, Fat or Muscle and both. Hope this helps...

Correst me if I am wrong guys, but less weight, and more reps is more for strength training, or maintaning what muscle that exists.

I was told to start off with 15 reps and not too heavy of a weight and then work your reps up by one or two each set. You should do at least 3 sets of one exercise.
