The guide that FT has given me calls for 386g of carbs and only 31g of fat (2571 calories and 193 protein). Isn't this too many carbs? I have been getting 150 and 250 and feel like that is more than enough. How many carbs is considered 'low carb'? I have been eating a lot more fat than 31, could that be the reason I am not losing weight, even if the other requirements are under the limit? To get 2500 calories and only 31g of fat I feel like I would have to spend waaaaay too much time in food preparation. All input is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

i've found the same thing true. if i eat only the amt of fat that's suggested, my other counts are way too low. the only way i've found to eat as suggested is to plan, plan, plan. and supplement, supplement, supplement.

I try to plan my meals ahead of time....but I'm not sticking to the nutrition plan they have set up for me....They have diet suggestions under the ab program that I follow....seems to work better for me that way...

actually that is why losing weight is tricky. you have to get what you need from low fat, high calorie foods. eg apple. it has high carbs, high vitamins and no fat. another is cracked wheat bread.. another is wholebran granolas or cereals in the morning. these are almost all nonfat items. also I strongly believe that fat from fish and olive oil is very very healthy for you. many researches also support this. so when you are watching your fat intake also make sure you are watching what type of fat you are taking. instead of adding ranch dressing to your salad, add olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
hope this helps. if not I can send some recipes...

thanks, actually it does help. I have trouble with the cereal, breads thing as I 99% of the time avoid wheat and dairy. Also, I was making my own salad dressing with olive oil and lemon juice ( I also avoid vinegar a lot), but found that it added more fat and calories than bottled fat free dressings, although I do prefer my own. And of course when I make my own there is a lot of calculating trying to figure out the nutrition values. I eat salad most days with dinner. I eat several protein bars a day and that is where a lot of my carbs come from.
