I have been doing cardio every day for 30 minutes, sometimes an hour (alternating bike one day, treadmill the next, and trampoline the next)....I don't weight train at this point because I really just want to lose the 35 pounds I have left to get me to 135 pounds, hopefully by August....then start my weight training to get tone and tough!I try to eat right, but find myself grabbing a snack here and there daily, not all day maybe one a day, like a piece of chocolate or something, is this going to kill my weight loss goals if I work out everyday anyway? Hard not to have snacks around because I have 4 children....God this is tough! I have lost 59 pounds since Sept. 2005, but want to get rid of this fat body. I am 169 right now, and since I had a baby 6 months ago, it's like jello..help me!

no a piece of chocolate will not stunt ur fat loss as long as you don't eat to much lol like a whole bar or something. An hour of cardio a day to me sounds ok but you may find it hard to lose fat as you are coming up to your goal as you will have lost muscle by doing cardio.

A piece of chocolate every once in a while will not stunt yuor fat loss, but if you do it everday, it might. As long as you are consuming less calories then you burn a day, you will lose weight. I would recommend some weight lifting in order for you to keep the muscle that you have right now. Even though it may seem like you have no muscle at all, you do really, and that's part of the calorie burning process. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn, the more you can eat without gaining weight. 1 lb. of muscle gained, enables you to eat 50 more calories without gaining any weight at all. I would also recommend eating a good amount of protein. The protein will aid in maintaining lean muscle mass. Try to get your body weight in protein.
Good luck.

Thank you for your help, so hard to stay motivated, as I said before, I have 4 children, and I really just want to sleep..heehee! But I have come this far, and it pretty much takes all I have to get motivated..ugh! I have always been in good shape, and at 38 years old, it is now so hard. My oldest daughter is 17, and damn, it is sad that I once had her body!!

Hello. I completely understand what you are saying. I have 4 kids myself, my oldest is 10, and I never stop. It is really hard to find the time to workout. Luckily, I do have a bowflex at home (just now decided to use it, finally)as I know I would never be able to make it to the gym. As for me, I have never really been overweight, but I have not been toned either. I am trying to stay focused and motivated. This site really helps a ton. Just reading everyones stories, success or setbacks....all of it helps to get motivated!

if you are doing 1 hr of cardio and no weight training or anything to add resistance to the muscles the body will use muscle to fuel your body as it is no longer needed this is why you see long distance runners in the olympics or whatever, you will see they have no mucle mass at all where as a sprinter has a lot of muscle mass and low bf%. If you want to burn fat and also keep muscle or even gain it you might want to try HIIT training i have tried this and am now finding it easy to build muscle and also keep fat % under control even though my cals are now 4000 cals per day. :P Hope that helps

ok, tell me about that..I know what HIIT is..but how long do I do this for and how often to burn this extra 25 pounds I have to lose..I want to look toned and defined, I thought that the muscle won't show until I have lost the fat..thought I would do weight training after the extra weight was gone.

lilacdawn as long as as you are feeling like you are doin well then thats all that matters :) the cardio with a good balanced healthy diet you will find that the fat will come off. I reccomend swimming and using the rowing machines as they actually add resistance to all of the muscles in the body. Swimming is just the finest cardio there is and it is almost guaranteed to make you more toned it also allows you to use muscles that you would never use when using free weights or machines. Plus its relaxing at least i find it is.

jajewel HIIT has no parameters it varies effectiveness for every person. however 2-4 times a week should be fine i couldnt honestly tell you how long it would take to burn 25 pounds if you stick with it though you will find you may notice differences in a short time at least i did.
