My doctor and i recently started a new weight loss program in which one of the things i'm to do is use a whey protein shake twice a day. While shopping through the different brands and varieties i noticed that some offered higher levels of protein than others. My concern is there such a thing as too much protein for someone who is trying to lose and just tone/rebuild lost muscle mass?
also is there a general consensus as to which brand is better than the other?

I've treid using nutrimeal of USANA and it works fine. Too much protein can be harmful to our kidneys. Make sure to consume not more than 2 cups a day.
