Hey everyone,

I'm currently on the special 12 week mass program. So far things have been going well with it. I originally weighed 135lbs with a 32inch waste and am now 185lbs with a 36inch waste. Don't know what my before bf% was but I'm now at 19% bf (35lbs of fat). Here's my history:

135lbs - 175lbs from May 03 until Nov 03 (Mass phase)
175lbs - 155lbs from Nov 03 until Apr 04 (loss phase)
155lbs - 185lbs from Apr 04 until Jul 04 (Progressive phase)

I'm now on the second week of a mass phase using the 12 week mass program. Am I gaining too much fat over all this history? My goal is to reach 200lbs during a mass phase then cut my bf% down below 14%. Then go to a progressive gains until I feel the need to bulk more. Is 19% too much to have when just starting out on a new mass phase?

I sort of feel like I already know the answer to this question, but I have great faith in the people here and need some encouragement to do the right thing.

To get an idea of what I was in the middle of the progressive phase click on my pictures. When you click on my pictures a totally different one shows up that I just uploaded a couple days ago. Not sure why they aren't showing on the small thumb size ones.

where did you find out you were 19% body fat? just looking at your pics I can tell you are no 19% body fat. I hope its not from the internet because thats the internet cant tell you anything about it. Get someone to take skin folds with calipers thats one of the best ways to find out. Alot of gyms offer that as a service.

19% did seem kind of high. Did you click on the pictures to pull up the back shots? Those are newer than the ones that show up to the left. I'll have to see if the gym on base here has calipers. Just want to make sure I'm not digging myself a hole I can't get out of (too much fat gain in a mass phase).

when I am in mass mode I only gain the weight in my stomach because my body does not like it when I dont do alot of cardio (damn metabolism!!) Also when I am doing my building I take creatine and for some reason it makes me retain water and makes my stomach bloated I dont know if this happens to alot of people but it does for me. Before jumping to any conclusions take the caliper test than after that you be the judge and if you feel like its too much than just do some extra cardio

A good creatine should not make you hold any subcataneous water. It is fine to do when cutting.

I agree. My creatine seems to work pretty good. It does exactly what I want and I generally don't "hold any subcataneous water" unless I dehydrate myself then suddenly drink alot. That happens whether or not creatine is involved for obvious reasons.
