I've recently started typing in my nutrition plan. It said was consuming about 8X the daily target of vit A, 8x magnesium, 3x phospherous, 4x folate, 5x niacin, 7x vitamin C, 2x riboflavin, 2x thiamin, 3x B-6, 2x zinc. All that along with vitamin supplements. wew...
Anyways, I was wondering if I'm getting too much vitamins and minerals or is this all good.

Also I'm getting twice the amount of protein and carbs, about 5 times the amount of fat and twice the amount of calories it recommends, but my BMI is 17. Which is apparently v low.

There is toxicity associated with overconsumption of vitamins and minerals. But remember, the RDA provided by ft is just that: a recommended daily allowance for an average person.

My room mate (who's a dietician) tells me the bio-availability of some nutrients in food is really low, so taking a multi-vitamin isn't a bad thing.

As far as your calorie intake and BMI, I'm a bit stumped. But 5x the recommended fat does seem excessive ... Anybody else??

You must remember that like quads123 mentioned.. these values are RDA for the AVERAGE person. We are athletes and require higher dosages than those who go to work.. then home and sleep.

What is your sex? height? weight? age? bf%? training experience?

I found I ended up taking about 30-40X the recommended vitamin A intake, but everything else was fine. I haven't noticed any of the symptoms for too much vitamin A so either I need a lot of it for some odd reason, or those RDAs should be taken with a grain of salt.
