I workout alot about 4 days a week, have a pretty high metabolism, and I eat fairly well. I have never been one to count calories or be overly critical about what I ate. I will be 29 in May so I know I will need to be more aware of what I eat and try to eat more healthier. I put in that I have a fast fat-burning rate and that I want to maintain low fat diet. The gave me a list saying that I need to consume almost 4400 calories a day. There is no way I can take in that much. I did a weekly test by just writing down everything that I ate in a week and I averaged about 1400 total calories a day. Is there something that I should be adding to my diet to boost my intake or should I just keep eating like I have been but just keep an eye on the fat intake?
You need to up your calories big time. How many meals are you eating a day?
I used to also think that there was no way I could reach my goal of 3100 calories a day.
I have since added weight gainer and a little more calories in each "snack" meal I have in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I easily made up the difference there.
However, if your goal is to lose weight, I do not recommend adding weight gainer into your regimine.
Use the FT nutrition guide or start up an account on www.fitday.com and track everything you eat for a week or two until you get a good idea of how many calories you are taking in each day.
Check out bb1fit's post called "Grocer'List for a Body Builder" and read it, print it out, and use it. This will be your new diet bible. :)
Hope some of this info helps... Welcome to FT and good luck to you.
