I posted this elsewhere but it was the wrong forum and it deserves more attention here anyway :D
"Total Protein" Absolutely AWESOME!! This cereal is about $3.79 at the local WalMart. Did you look at the ingredients and vitamins? They use Whey Protein Isolate and all kinds of good vitamins and minerals, including 100% of C and E. I'm very impressed; taste is good and protein to calorie ratio ROCKS! How bout this stuff? Better than my Kashi Go Lean! :surprised: -------------- --There are no versions of the truth.-- Jeff Goldblum, Jurassic Park II |

I was checking it out but was unimpressed by the price ($4.79 here), so I headed over to the organic foods section and ended up finding a bunch of alternatives. Granted, Total has typically been known as an excellent source of vitamins and minerals.

It doesn't fire up the gas turbine like GoLean Crunch either.

I'm into the Optimun Blueberry something or other that I get at Costco, about the same nutritional value, 12.5 instead of 13gr of protein. I'll have to get the box and compare.-------------- If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.--- Desiderata, Max Ehrmann, 1927 |

Agreed; GoLean keeps me weighing less in part due to my personal methane production after a serving. Flatulence can be a form of propulsion.
I just looked GoLean Crunch up here http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s01dr.html and noticed it had a disturbing number of cals. per serving; guess I didn't pay attention before. They also say the type of aa's used cannot be measured for quality due to lack of information. I think most of the protein is soy in GoLean Crunch, not positive. On that same site, I looked up the top 21 cereals for protein content per 200 calorie serving and here are those results: http://www.nutritiondata.com/foods-008078000000000000000.html ============ Quoting from agamble: It doesn't fire up the gas turbine like GoLean Crunch either. ============= |

Ok is this a Super WalMart, cuz I can't find it at mine? Is it with the other cereals or with the healthfoods. I have been eating that Optimum Power cereal, but the box says 8g protein per cup. It has flax and soy in it though.-------------- ~Victoria~ ...Do not be discouraged; everyone who got where he is, started where he was.--anon ...There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.--Beverly Sills |

I got it at the neighborhood Wal-Mart grocery store and I agree, it's actually very good. I also love that it truly doesn't get soggy either!
It's about time they came up with something other than nasty looking bran sticks and twigs. Oh and LMAO Ogun and Agamble. Hate when the propulsion system kicks in at the gym...particularly on leg days. -------------- Pain is but a threshold to greater strength. |

I like regular Total! I'll try the protein Total - is it pretty filling? I know GoLean Crunch has more kcals per serving but it also fills me up better than a flake cereal.
After reading this thread I'm embarassed to admit I like GoLean Crunch! ROFL I think I must be immune to it since I've never noticed that particular side effect. :surprised: |
