Until recently I had not paid much attention to the amount of food - in calories - that I was taking in on a daily basis. I'm a 12-year vegetarian, 6', 165lbs. I eat when I'm hungry and my exercise mostly consists of outdoor activities like biking, running and the such, which I do often. With it now being winter, I have started a more gym-based exercise program which is new for me. I've also started tracking what I eat - mostly out of curiosity at this point.

That said, I wondered, first, if anyone had a good way to track and calculate calories and nutrition? I'm finding that there is some ok software but it's still tough to calculate things like restaurant meals.

My other question is how do I determine what a good caloric intake is for my exercise program? According to some of these programs I'm taking in barely more than half of what it believes I should be.

Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
