Hi. I have a question. I was searching the internet and found an online workout from some German personal trainer, Oliver Wolter. He gave specific workouts for gaining mass quickly. I wasn't sure if they would work. Anyways the program starts with an almost static exercise, meaning theres almost no movement at all. For the chest for example, you take like 50% of your one rep max and lower it very slowly to your chest (do this in 1 minute). Once it gets there push up very slowly (also take 1 minute to do this) Once you're done with this go to pec deck (butterfly machine) right away w/ no rest. Select a weight thats about 80% of your max and do 6-8 reps. Once u finish drop the weight to about 60% of your max and do the set til failure. On the final rep, hold your muscles fully contracted (in this case your arms should be together) until they fail. The first set is supposed to get the blood flowing really well to the muscles and this routine is suppose to stimulate muscle growth as there is no rest at all between sets. This is the basic structure for working out all the major muscle groups. He says only use this routine for like a month tops then switch back to your old routine rotating them every now and then. Does this workout work? I haven't had the time to do it yet.

It sounds to me like it should work. Cos if you build muscle by first damaging the fibres, then doing things veeerrryy sloooowwly should make a workout more intensive.

Thanks kalanchoe. The guy who created this workout promised 5 pounds of muscle mass from this workout. I was confused as I never see ppl use this method in lifting. PPl i see mainly superset for mass. I always thought that doing something like this would get you cut, not bigger. I normally do four sets of bench press in my regular workout. Will doing all four in a row with no rest at all give me mass too?

it sounds like a good workout, and if it works for you and you like it then keep at it.
