After doing a fit buddy search and not finding a good answer..... I was wondering.....
I am switching from my bulking diet to my cutting diet. I know I dont want to go right from 4400 calories down to 3100 calories.... so I wanted to double check to make sure that I am not cutting my diet too fast.
So here is what I am doing (unless you suggest I do otherwise) Start at 4400, then drop to 4200 calories for 1 week, then 4000 for another week, then 3700 calories for a week, then 3400 calories for a week, then 3000-3100 for remainder of cutting period until I start my transition back to bulking.
Does this look good, or is my thought process totally wrong?
Second, this is what my nutrient breakdown target is going to be-
345g protien = 1,550 calories
245g carb = 1,350 calories
50g fat = 450 calories
These are all going to be clean calories to... should I tweak this target, or does it look good?
(Heads up so you know, I am also throwing in cardio into my workout, bumping it up as I feel necessary... And in case you need to know, I am 6'1", 202 lbs, workout 5 days a week at 1-1.5 hours a workout (Including cardio and weights, with 60 minutes dedicated to weights and 30 min to cardio))
Thanks for any help.

How much do you weigh skinny? Do you think I should go clear down to 2,000 or is that too low?

i only weigh around 190 and im 6'2 but your diet is up to you, depends how much you want to loose. i like to loose 1.5 lbs a week even if a little bit is muscle. But when cutting i only work out 4 days a week but do cardio 5-6 days a week. I think 2,500 calories would be good but that's just my opinion, im by no mean an expert.

What you want to do is find what your maintenance calorie intake is. Once you find that your set, this can take a minimum of 2 weeks, once your at your baseline you want to stay there for a week or two(recommnded by Ron a long time ago I belive) After you've finished that you can then begin to decrease your calories starting with subtracting 250, watch the scale and see if your wieght is moving if not decrease another 250. losing 1-2lbs. a week is the range you want to be in. Always subtract in 250 incrments. Switching from a bulking cycle to cutting cycle like this will help ensure the least amount of lean tissue loss. I use the same rule as well when going from a cutting cycle to bulking diet to limit the amount of fat gain. Hope that helped a little.:dumbbell:

Thanks for the suggestions guys.... :)
I have a very high maintenance calorie intake (Which is around 3300-3500) because of a very high metabolism I was gifted with at birth.. I could sit and do nothing all day, eat 3500 calories and still not gain an ounce (I did it for a year :) )
I will probably drop it down to 2500 altogether, my goal altogether is to drop about 15 lbs during this 8-10 week cutting cycle, which at 1-2 lbs a week I should be able to accomplish :dumbbell::dumbbell::dumbbell:

Sounds like you have a solid plan. You have the right approach, too quick of a calorie drop will result in immediate muscle loss. The approach you are taking is solid, you will not "shock" your body, and thus things will keep humming along for you.
