What type of routine do you guys use for working your traps? And on what day do you work them, shoulders or back? I usually do shrugs and DB shrugs. I don't do upright rows anymore due to an elbow injury. I haven't seen too much size increase in my traps in the past. I am just starting a new program tommorrow and I am trying to get all the good information I can before I begin. Thanks in advance.

I do heavy barbell shrugs and do them on shoulder day. I also get them going with back bay on the deadlifts as well..

Personally, I like doing lateral DM raise and bend over laterals supersets of 4 sets / 8-12 reps Then depends if I still have energy left I may hit the smith machine and put on heavy weight for upright rows.

Shrugs rock , Just make shure that you dont rotate your shoulders. Just move up and down pulling with your traps. To really punish your self superset up right rows with barbell shrugs.

I like doing shrugs, then somthing called power shrugs
shrugs do them regularly, reps 10-12 good stretch, 2sec hold at top.
power shrugs....usually my grip is gone, so I have to get out my wraps, load the bar with alot of weight( I go up to about 500lbs) Now lift it off the rack, and let it "pull" your arms and traps down, now with a slight CONTROLLED jerk with the knees and lower back, shurg it, but hold it, and hold it and hold it,then let your traps "uncoil" and pull them all the way down, then do the same thing. I like to hold it for 15-20 secs. 3 to 5 reps.....3 or 4 sets.
Or you can just be a cheerleader:big_smile:

oh I forgot.............DEADLIFTS...is there nothing the DL can't do???
Squats help a lil too, if you "shrug up" to keep the bar off you neck and spine.
