laboratory analysis of emulsified peanut butter shows that every brand analyzed had ultra-low levels of trans fats. In fact, they were at least 100 times lower than 0.5 grams per 2 tablespoons, the level at which, under a proposed FDA labeling law, a manufacturer could describe a product as trans fat-free.

Probably true, like a lot of low-fat or fat-free labels, there is a certain allowable amount by government atndards. You would like to think that the government has our best interest in mind when they establish 'safe' amounts of toxins and things like trans-fat, but do they really know what a safe level is ten years down the road??
Buy natural, unmixed, unhydrogentaed peanut butter. Better for you and won't have any trans-fat in it.

Gubment cheese is probably just as bad. I heard that the last person to be emulsified was a murderer in south Texas, but maybe I'm confused. Maybe it was New Mexico.

The drift I have gotten from the peanut butter posts here is that natural no sugar added peanut butter is heathy in 1 tablespoon per day doses. Its the same nutritionally as peanuts. There are healthy fats and good protein in it. I have added splenda to it to make it taste better. Does that help Leitita???
