I just wondered this out of curiosity. Why is it that when you restrict calories too much you do not loose weight, but yet there are anorexic people? I thought if total calories in are less than they are out weight loss will occur...

difference between weight loss and starvation, also anorexia would be more extreme, as in NO calories

also, there are people who post here who are anorexic. I don't think you should use the word twiggies. I know I wouldn't like it.

My understanding is, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when one is anorexic or malnourished, the body has used all the stored carbs and fat as fuel and is now using protien. The use of protien as fuel doesn't allow the muscles to grow, therefore the very thin look.
