I was wondering which type of deadlift you guys would recommend. Straight bar of trap bar? i prefer straight bar but i do find that trap bar dead lifts put less pressure on my lower back but pulls on my shoulder more which has had a few injuries to it do to football. i know both work basically the same muscle groups but what do ya'll prefer?

We don't have a trap bar at my gym, but even if we did I pretty sure I wouldn't use it. I don't think that I could hold onto as much weight with being able to use an alternating grip.

Depends on what your wanting.

Straight bar, depending on stance: will always take more posterior chain than the trap bar/hexabar.

Hexabar/trap bar is really more quad dominate, and very little posterior chain work in it. I think of it more as a version of hack squat.

pros and cons and that depends on what your wanting.

but i will say this, hexabar is alot easier than straight.....dont' do hexabar, and load up the same weight on straight bar...and think you can do it.

goodluck either way

Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror "toned" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack!

Don't talk to me, only thing that should be moving is the bar.
