I understand that using soy protein brings on estrogen, and I can understand why a man would not want that. However, I am a 40+ female. It sounds liek this would be a good thing for me, especially as I get closer to 50. Wouldn't soy protein be as good a choice as whey for an older woman?
I am going to do some online searching about the benefits of soy, because I think the medical community keeps flip-flopping on it.
One thing to consider is that the studies done on the benfits of soy are often done in japan, where soy products are unpasteurized, here ion the US everything is pasteurized and the process destroys a lot of the isoflavones/estrogen.
I will come back and post info that i find.

Soy has been discussed a great deal here. Fitbuddy may help as far as seeing whats been said at FT. Opinions vary greatly. My wife uses it and it has helped her regulate her periods. There is a book called "Wisdom of Menopause" by Susan Northrop MD which helped her sort things out. There is also a websight called revivalsoy.com which has an abundance of documented research. The soy seems to have helped her greatly without side effects but this is just 1 person.
