Ok, this has been going on for some time now, and I decided it was time to post. Ok, here is my situation. I lift 5 days a week and NEVER do cardio, but I am a lifeguard and swim alittle bit, but somehow I am getting stronger, and loosing weight at the same time, also gaining muscle, and I have seen a few people say it is impossible, so what am I doing wrong?! It is bugging me for some reason. Please help! And include what I should change, I am also eating about 4000 calories a day, I even loose weight when I eat CHeesecake. I think something is wrong.PS: Is it ok to do Shoulders on friday and Arms on Saturday? |

Similar situation happened with me. Either we're A. Genetically gifted, or B. We don't eat enough calories. Ft gave me a caloric intake of 5200 cals, and I was only hitting about 4000. What are your goals? -------------- Practice does NOT make perfect. Perfect practice does. |

I just want to weigh less than 120 and be abel to bench 400 and Squat 600 thats generally my main goals, and like I said, I DO eat ALOT infact cheesecake, pizza, everything I can get my hands on.. and FT gives me a caloric intake of 2800 and I am almost doubling that. And I dont think I can be geneticly gifted because my mom is chubby and my dad is skinny, noone in my family is very muscular. |

For wrestling... I dont want to wrestle the big guys, and wrestling little guys is better because I am REALLY short, only 5'6"!!! And I wrestled 112 the past 2 years and I am too muscular to go 119 this year, and plus, I have 0% bf and cant seem to gain any no matter what I do. |

Shocker, I don't know if someone weighing 120 pounds can even bench past 250, let alone 400. And, unless you have tree trunk for legs, you're not going to be able to squat anywhere near 600.As far as your "problem," I think it's all genetics. Your other question was about shoulders and arms on consecutive days. This should be fine, as long as you don't do back and/or chest on consecutive/previous days. You'll overtrain your arms that way. Good luck! -------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

Yes, perhaps you are right. So maby going up to about 145-150 would be a better solution to getting up in the Bench/Squat maxes? I also have not seen many bodybuilders aside from Priest be really short and pack on alot of mass. My program looks like this:Day 1: Chest/Triceps Day 2: Legs/Calves Day 3: Back/Biceps Day 4: Rest Day 5: Shoulders/Calves Day 6: Biceps/Triceps Day 7: Rest So in Genetics, would this be having Good or Bad genetics? Thanks for the help guys! |

Your training split looks okay, except there's no need to work your biceps and triceps twice. If you've hit them hard on your first workout, there's no need to hit them again. Instead, concentrate on your chest on chest day and your back on back day. When you think of it, your arms do most of the work for these muscle groups anyway. As far as genetics, yes you will be limited in how much mass you will be able to accumulate. -------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

So Robert, it's not okay to work biceps & triceps twice a week? This is how ft has my schedule right now & I'm already in the 5th week or my 8 week. As of right now I'm doing my arms on Tuesdays and Fridays. -------------- †--SiRkS--† |

Are you on a 3-day training split? If so, that could explain why the program has you doing arms 2x per week. Under the 5-day split, arms are usually just done once per week.-------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

Is there anyway to tell exactly how much mass you will be able to build? Also.. I like working arms twice a week because of the fact they need to get bigger.. I mean I have pretty small Biceps(16") and would like to get up in the 20's"Also, is it Genetics that my Upperbody is BIGGER than my lower body? |

No, there is no exact way of measuring how much mass you can build. You don't need to work your arms that much for them to get bigger...this is a common misconception. It COULD be genetics as to why your upper body is bigger...although, can you honestly say you've worked on your lower body as much as your upper body? -------------- **_Robert_** Pain is temporary; glory is forever! |

That is true, in the past all I have done is bench and curls, and sometimes deadlifts, thanks for all the help. |

You could also have type 2 diabetes. That would cause you to lose weight no matter how much you eat. Do you have any of the other symptoms of type 2 diabetes (frequent urination, thirsty alot, unexplained weight loss) If so get to a doctor of clinic and get tested. There are millions of people out there who have the disease but don't know it. I found out that I had it, just because I dropped like 10 pounds in a little over 2 weeks without trying. I had muscle mass, and ate the usual american diet. If in doubt, get checked! |

I don't know weather ur a teenager or not but if u are ur constantly burning calories....and sometimes u even burn calories when u lift....if you do toning then u burn more calories but if u do strength training, then it pumps the heart more doing more reps so i guess u burn more calories there....-------------- Tiffany Der #10 "You have to make it through the rain in order to see the Rainbow........." |

Shocker, I think you should be careful about what you eat to gain weight. Things like pizza and cheesecake may not be packing on the pounds but they can do a number on the rest of your body: heart and arteries, liver, kidneys, etc. |
