Does anyone continue their training when they're a little unwell, say down with a cold or the fever..something like that? Some I have heard hat training when unwell can be dangerous and harmful to your immune system. Does anyone have info?

Unless I cough up a lung, chop a limb off, or simply get killed, I will be lifting on my scheduled days no matter how I feel. Depending on the severity, it is actually helpful to workout when you are mildly sick or under the weather. Sweating helps to release toxins and burn off possible infections. Don't be afraid to workout if you are sick, you may thank yourself after.

There have been times when I was sick that I didn't work out and the reason being is they don't like it when I throw up on the gym floor.

Normally I feel if it is above the neck only, like a head cold, ok...but anything below it, like lung congestion, etc., then I rest.

As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it.

Okay on the serious side, If you are not feeling well, and still have that urge to workout. Keep in mind that your immune system actually supresses while you workout. Which makes you more vulnurable for other bugs, and might actually make you feel worse. So try and wait until you are healthy again before you raise the intensity back to where it was before the illness.

I still train........ BUT the only thing I get out of it is that my body needs a lot longer recovery time. No good actually, you better rest!

This is going to sound like I'm a mom, but hey, I am! If you are working out with a cold or similar, cover your mouth when you cough and wash your hands...often! The rest of us don't want what you've got....thank you.
