Well, I have been having trouble keeping the schedule. I just recently lowered my training days from 4 days to 3 days a week. I will probably miss this weeks exercises though. As i have 3 tests at school in a row. It seems I can't get 4 days training in a row, but then again I don't know about 3 but i am going to try. Anyways .. I find i can lift more with a friend working out with me ... makes me wish i had a friend to workout with all the time but i do my best. Anyways Just thought I'd update everyone on my training. Even though i am not making it to all my scheduled workouts I feel I am benefitting from the ones I do make it to. Any suggestions on how to keep myself motivated to try heavier weights when no one is working out with me?

Yeah just do it! LOL sorry I was in the same boat no spotter and so i stayed very much the same in weight for years...result? I never really progressed sure I added weight but we are talking like 20 lbs a year......do not fear it most in the gym will come to your aide if you need it and do not be afraid to ask them for a spot. Next time you go in pick one exercise to try this out add enough weight so you can only get 8 reps try for ten.....really push it even if all you get is 6 that is good. Example: bench press, say you could normally get 195 10 times....start with 215 try for 10 if you get 8 great if you get 6 ok. then add 225 and try for 10 every week try to go past where you were the week before. Trust me this works, not every week will you see improvemnet. I had been stuck at 205 on the bench for almost a year cause I was afraid to go heavier....3 months ago I gave up that fear, since then I have added 20lbs and soon will add 45 more, I am now hitting 225 8 times and 235 6, so I will soon reach my goal og using 250 8 times in my workout all by the end of march. Make a goal in the future of what you want to accomplish make it reachable and then do it! Good luck!

that may work but without a spotter it may not be a good idea to push up so much heavy weight when you can't lift the lower weight of 195 lbs. this would work though if you had one of those benches with the little spot pegs.

Yeah I know that is the scary part. Took me a while to get over it. Yeah I do not have a spotter ut have learned when not to go for that extra rep. ABOVE ALL ELSE BE SAFE...if you feel that you can not do that then ask someone in the gym for a spot 99% will give it to you.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I have done that stuck to certain weights on exercises that could be dangerous if done without a spotter. But I will add more now. I and weak compared to you though 7707mutt .. I can't even bench 195 one time let alone more. I couldn't handle 110 the other day at the gym .. the whole class went to the YMCA and I finally had a spotter and motivators to atleast try it ... I think my goal will be to bench 195 in no later than a year and hopefully sooner. Thanks for the advice. Now if i could only manage to go to the gym on my scheduled days lol... this week is probably a no go because of all the tests but I'll try.
