Hi!

I have chosen the Weight loss program and doing the exercises regularly.

One main concern for me is diet. Being a vegetarian, I have very few choices of food.

I know that we have to split our meals and eat like about 5 times in a day.

I would appreciate if you would advice what to eat, portion size and at what times of the day I should eat. This will be really very helpful to me and also to the other Vegetarians.

Let me know at the earliest so that I regularize my diet pattern.

I am 22 years old. and my current weight is 168 lbs and I am 5 ft and 6 inches. I would like to reduce my weight between 140 and 150.

Also are there any methods of gaining few inches tall and completely reducing the excess belly fat?

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much Ron.

I actually read through the forums in www.veggie.org. I was able to get a lot of information. however, I still find it difficult to prescribe a diet for myself without any prior experience. I am sure of my goals as I had already written. Also give me suggestions on how to remove fat around the stomach, hip, butt and thighs.

Also let me know about the Protein powders that are available at the market.

Thank you.

Your diet should consist of 5-6 meals per day. I know this sounds like maybe even more than you are eating now, but honestly, the more often you eat, the more it revs your metabolism. Now these are not large meals, just simply medium meals with a good portion of protein at each one, 30 gr. or so, some good complex carbs (1/2 c. or so) like black, lima, kidney beans, or black eyed peas, or at one meal a 5 oz. sweet potato. Add in at 2 meals a serving of EFA's, some healthy fats like flax oil. Fish oils are good, cold water fish have alot of them, like salmon, tuna, etc. if you can eat fish. Protein powders may be a good choice for you being a vegetarian. They may be a way to meet your needed protein needs. If you can do dairy, then eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt and milk along with a bit of cheese will be of great aid to you. Hope this helps.
