What is a vertical bench crunch? There is not a description or instructions for this exercise.
Thanks

Implementation: This is a different version of Hanging Reverse Crunches. (A) Place yourself on a vertical bench that allows you to support your body on your elbows and forearms and bring your knees up to the level of your abdominal. (B) From here, lift your knees up as far as possible toward your face, rounding your back and rolling yourself upward into a ball. When you reach the top of this exercise, pause and crunch the abdominal together for a peak contraction, then lower your knees to the starting position with the knees pulled up. Don't lower your leg any further than this, now repeat till you are done with your set.

Ok, I think I gotcha. Sort of sideways on a regular bench with feet and head coming together?

Nope, the verticle bench is a specific piece of gym equipment.
Lets see, how to describe it? Kind of looks like a really tall
chair without a seat. You stand in it, using some little steps
and place your weight on your forarms on the "chairs arms".
Your legs hang down, and that's where the exercise in lifting
your legs comes in.

Ok, thats what I originally thought it was, but I also see it listed in hanging crunches? Is it the same exercise?

Would the vertical bench be what most gyms have merged with the paralell dips. (Dip handles, continue to a padded arm rest with vertical handles, and a backrest.) Is that right ?

You can also buy those for about $100. They usually also include a chin up bar on the back.

Yeah, I have been looking for a bench that has them included. Found one for about 799 but I dont want to pay that. I saw the chin/vertical bench for 120 at Sports Authority.
